Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Senior Civil Engineer (Transportation) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

The Department of Transportation's (DOT) Bureau of Design and Delivery, Contract Management Division, is currently on the lookout for a skilled Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Transportation projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will oversee intricate responsibilities related to the management, selection, and implementation of engineering agreements. The primary objective of this position is to manage the process of requesting consultant services, offer assistance to the department's Consultant Selection Committee, and assess and authorize the overhead rates charged by consultants who provide their services.

Your duties will include providing direction, guidance, and support related to all aspects of consultant agreement development, selection, negotiation and payment; establishing and implementing policy and standardized procedures related to consultant agreements; reviewing and approving consultant overhead rates; and acting as a liaison, technical expert, and source of information regarding section programs, services, and products to management, other PennDOT personnel, other agencies, industry representatives, and the general public.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is located in Harrisburg, but may be headquartered at a DOT engineering district office if space permits. This position is eligible for Alternate Work Schedule (AWS).

Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid driver's license. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
