Position Overview The position encompasses execution and supervision of all activities relating to readymix batch plants including batching, raw material management, quality, safety, operational improvements and supervision of drivers. The RMC plant Superintendent will be responsible for the operation of 2-3 RMC plants. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) * Promote a safe work environment and support all safety initiatives. * Oversee safety of all employees reporting to the plant and manage contractors / visitors in the RMC area. Carry out toolbox talks, safety meetings and event learnings, review risk assessments and ensure all required safety trainings are carried out. * Minimize plant downtime by carrying out daily plant inspections, organizing repairs and scheduling preventative maintenance. * Ensuring timely delivery of aggregates, cement, admixtures and all other necessary supplies to meet our customer's requirements and manage inventory at the plants. * With the support of QC, ensure a quality product is produced and delivered to our customers including heating, cooling, fibers, air, slump and strength. * Supervise all the employees assigned to work from the plant (Operators and Drivers) and be responsible for development coaching and discipline as required. * Use KPIs, quality results and cost reports to reduce the raw material and production costs with the support of QC and sales. * Support dispatch to improve delivery efficiency and reduce delivery cost by optimizing delivery processes and implementing standards. * Work with the shop to ensure trucks are properly maintained and repaired without impacting delivery requirements. * Work with your team and other RMC teams to devise safety and operational improvement projects (capex and expenditure) and implement best practices to improve the safety and efficiency of the plants.

Additional Responsibilities * Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. * Must be willing to travel and work away from home occasionally. * Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. * Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual. * Strict adherence to Pennsy Supply policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual. * Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Previous leadership experience preferred

Knowledge/Skill Requirements * Computer skills required for batching, maintenance and other company systems. Knowledge of Microsoft office required. * High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust. * Strong work ethic and high standards for safety in the workplace. * Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback. * Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours. * Must be able to work independently and with groups. * Must be able to work under time constraints as needed.

General Requirements * Must be 18 years in age or older. * Must possess a valid driver's license and dependable transportation to and from the job site. * Must submit to a pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
