DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will be responsible for conducting inspections to ensure compliance with Pennsylvania's radiological regulations in the Southcentral and Northcentral areas. This includes independently inspecting state-licensed radiation sources and radioactive materials facilities in Region 3 (Harrisburg Office) and Region 4 (Williamsport Office) and enforcing relevant state and federal regulations. You will also be required to prepare detailed inspection reports and investigate public inquiries or complaints related to radiation safety. Additionally, you will be tasked with investigating incidents involving radiation sources and radioactive materials in public areas, and utilizing office or field computers and associated software for various tasks, including word processing, electronic spreadsheets, and database management.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66,250 (before taxes). Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of professional experience in the recognition, evaluation, and control of radiation hazards and possession of a certificate of registration issued by the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists; or

Certification as a health physicist by the American Board of Health Physics; or

One year as a Radiation Health Physicist 1; or Two years of professional experience in the recognition, evaluation, and control of radiation hazards and a bachelor's degree in health physics, radiation physics, radiation biology, nuclear physics, or applied health physics; or

Two years of professional experience in the recognition, evaluation, and control of radiation hazards and a bachelor's degree with major course work in the physical, biological, or radiological sciences or in nuclear engineering, that includes 20 credits in health physics or radiological sciences; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of an active non-commercial PA Class C driver's license or equivalent. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. How to Apply:
