Position Overview:

The Payroll Analyst will report directly to the Payroll Manager. Under general supervision the position is responsible for processing payroll, assisting with year-end processing, assist with audits, and research payroll inquiries, while maintaining the confidentiality of payroll information.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Partner with Payroll Manager to process year end payroll activities including W-2s.
  • Run payroll reports and provide data to Accounting.
  • Provide data for payroll related requests internally and for audits.
  • Manage & create cases with UKG Pro for payroll issues that may arise. This includes, but is not limited to, tax overpayments and/or refunds and processing errors.
  • Backup Payroll Manager when needed with processing RSU and stock transactions, third party sick pay, ensuring tax liabilities are accurate.
  • Research/Process recovery of payroll overpayments and returned checks.
  • Prepare periodic payroll reports for management.
  • Perform payroll balancing activities for all regular and off cycle payrolls.
  • Review pre and post payroll audit reports for accuracy.
  • Update PTO accruals when employees return from a leave and errors with setup.
  • Respond/Provide documentation to UKG Pro for garnishment, including sending paperwork, research and reconciling garnishment deductions.
  • Research and approve workflow approvals within HRIS system.
  • Review and validate payroll results to ensuring tax liabilities are accurately calculated.
  • Resolve payroll tax inquiries/issues for employees.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

*Qualifications:*

 

  • Four-year degree preferred or equivalent combination of work experience required.
  • Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to complete assignments in the time allotted.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and payroll software program.
  • Preferred UKG Ready (Kronos) and UKG Pro (UltiPro) experience or knowledge
