DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Parole Staff Technician 2, you will receive cases and special assignments to determine proper and accurate wording of board actions. This will include researching, analyzing, and evaluating all violation hearing materials; reviewing incoming correspondence; resolving inconsistencies with court opinions; and establishing policies that address appropriate changes. You will use strong organizational skills to prioritize cases that necessitate immediate action and assure proper completion of time-sensitive work. In addition, you will provide office support by answering telephone inquiries, assist in training new technicians, and keep current with all required training hours.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week after sufficient training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,836 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Parole Staff Technician 1; or Four years of clerical experience that included one year in the interpretation and analysis of sentences and case information of criminal offenders; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that included one year in the interpretation and analysis of sentences and case information of criminal offenders.
Special Requirements: You must obtain Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification within three months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment in this job.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
