Nexstar Media Group News Photographer / Weekend Editor in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

abc27, the ABC affiliate in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a Weekend Editor/Photographer. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in television news as a photojournalist and video editor. You will collaborate with reporters to create visually compelling stories, while also contributing your own ideas to enhance the final product. The role requires the ability to work independently, conduct interviews, and gather information when assigned a story without a reporter. Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, Bit Central, and ENPS is a plus.

Essential Duties:

  • Shoot video of events for news stories, independently or with an assigned reporter.

  • Select and combine the most effective shots to create a logical, cohesive story.

  • Edit footage by trimming segments and reassembling sequences to maximize storytelling impact.

  • Organize and compile raw footage into a continuous whole, following scripts or instructions for newscasts and other programs.

  • Review assembled footage for necessary corrections and compliance with standards.

  • Set up and operate editing and distribution systems, including Adobe Premiere, BitCentral, ENPS, and AfterEffects, to produce the final product.

  • Collaborate with team members to discuss assignments, work quality, and desired effects.

  • Maintain and care for videography, editing equipment, and company vehicles.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Minimum two years of experience operating videography and video editing equipment.

  • Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in using digital video cameras, video editing equipment, and office equipment (computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines).

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
