Living Unlimited, Inc. Music Therapist (Harrisburg-Carlisle) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Living Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a part-time or full-time, highly motivated, Board-Certified Music Therapist to serve a varied caseload of groups and individuals in the Harrisburg-Carlisle region. We are looking to hire an exceptional staff to join our collaborative team of professionals.

A full-time position is exempt at $43,888 per year. Typical workday is performed Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm. A part-time position starting pay is $19.00 per hour. Some responsibilities, outlined below, may take place during the evening, weekend or holidays at which time you will earn an additional $2/hour differential for direct client work.

What you'll do:

  • Assesses client's abilities and needs based on information received on the music therapy intake and direct observation of responses to assessment activities.
  • Develops a client centered treatment plan based on the music therapy assessment, intake, and program evaluations or client care plans.
  • Implements the treatment plan by providing therapy to individuals and groups as recommended in the plan and as determined by funding.
  • Demonstrates awareness and implements resources for disability populations through service provision.
  • Completes and submits administrative and treatment documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintains communication with funding sources and client's team members on a routine basis.
  • Acts as an advocate for the Music Therapy department and Living Unlimited.
  • Access to monthly Music Therapy department meetings.
  • Peer and group clinical supervision allowing a collaboration with a team of music therapists.
  • On-going training to meet continued education requirements.
  • Treatment provided in a variety of venues, from office to community based sites such as schools, group homes, and private homes. Local travel is required.

What we're looking for --At a minimum, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy and Board Certification in Music Therapy. Excellent organization skills and ability to communicate with a variety of individuals. Ability to work independently and be accountable.
  • Ability to successfully use a variety of instruments, including voice.
  • Ability to be flexible and creative in sessions and with scheduling.
