Position Overview

The IT Application and Hardware Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting various application infrastructures and user-facing hardware.  In addition, this individual will proactively identify potential issues and implement and/or make recommendations for resolutions and solutions.  The IT Application and Hardware Administrator will provide technical support to staff and will also be responsible for reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as well as responding to inquiries or requests for information.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Application Administration:
    1. Installs, configures, and administers various software applications to support business operations, including but not limited to core banking systems, SharePoint, lending applications, IT management and monitoring applications, etc.
    2. Monitors and manages application performance, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
    3. Diagnoses and troubleshoots software issues, providing timely resolution or escalation as needed.
    4. Collaborates with System Team to implement updates, patches, and enhancements.
    5. Ensures data integrity, security, and compliance within applications.
  2. User-Facing Hardware Management:
    1. Sets up and deploys user-facing hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and peripherals.
    2. Performs hardware installations, updates, and upgrades on end-user devices.
    3. Diagnoses and troubleshoots user hardware issues, providing timely resolution or escalation as needed.
    4. Maintains an inventory of user-facing hardware and ensures accurate asset tracking.
    5. Collaborates with procurement to order new hardware, ensuring compatibility and adherence to standards.
  3. End-User Support
  4. Security and Compliance:
    1. Implements security measures on user-facing hardware and applications.
    2. Assists Information Security access administration team, ensuring compliance with company security policies.
    3. Contributes to data protection efforts by adhering to data privacy regulations and best practices.
  5. Collaboration:
    1. Works closely with cross-functional teams, including System Team, Help Desk, Network Team, Information Security, and development, to align hardware and application strategies.
    2. Assists IT Team on various projects.
    3. Collaborates with external vendors and support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    1. Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency enhancement within application and hardware management.
    2. Participates in technology evaluations to recommend upgrades and enhancements to hardware and applications.
  7. Travels to other physical locations when necessary to solve various problems.
  8. Manages, maintains, and supports various application infrastructures, and the hardware that is used by them.
  9. Implements needed and requested changes utilizing a projec format that is planned and approved in a methodical and responsible fashion while communicating appropriately with the manager and team.
  10. Maintains current knowledge of the various applications utilized by the organization; keeps current on all industry-specific emerging technology trends. Makes use of industry specific training provided.
  11. Supports end users with the Bank's core processing systems, integrated or ancillary technologies and applications in a Citrix environment.
  12. Actively seeks and engages in learning and development opportunities to ensure peak performance by completing and/or demonstrating the following:
    1. Partners with manager to complete a written Individualized Development Plan that aligns with achieving current performance expectations and supporting potential career goals.
    2. Applies newly learned knowledge and skills on the job.
    3. Shares information with others that may benefit from his/her expertise.
    4. Seeks coaching and feedback to ensure high performance.
  13. Provides technical assistance to end-users, addressing hardware and application-related inquiries and problems.
  14. Provides IT training to staff, as appropriate.
  15. Offers guidance and training to users on hardware and software usage.
  16. Creates and updates user documentation, guides, and FAQs to facilitate self-help resources.
  17. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her Applications and/or Hardware within given time frames and within established policy.
  18. Documents detailed problem resolutions to enhance Knowledge Base of used applications and hardware.
  19. Utilizes the organization's current report writing tools to create or update special request reports.
  20. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
  21. Performs tasks, which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
  22. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in application administration and end-user hardware management.
  • Proficiency in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and bank related productivity software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and data privacy regulations.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, ITIL) are a plus.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' related experience normally required.
