DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Within this Accounting Assistant position, you will function as an Invoice Processor 1, performing a review of purchase order (PO)-based and Non-PO-based invoices.  You will review vendors' and grantee invoices to ensure that each expenditure transaction is processed in accordance with the legal and administrative requirements set forth in the relevant procedure manuals, the Administrative Code, and the Management Directives.  This is a highly technical position requiring a working knowledge of accounting principles and the workflow of invoices through the system to render payment most efficiently to Commonwealth vendors or grantees.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.  More detail can be provided during the interview process. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
