DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Information Technology Generalist 2, you will be responsible for a wide-range of duties including network administration, PC support, procurement, and reporting.  Work will involve configuration, installation, and support for PGC's Utility Mobile Access Platform (Rocket) in support of the agency's Law Enforcement Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, in addition to installation and support for PGC's State Game Lands, Game Farms, and Nursery for network and wireless connectivity.

Excellent communication skills are vital, as you will be training new PC support technicians as well as providing support to our remote users for network connectivity, hardware and software problem resolution, software installations and upgrades, and more.  Within this role, you will also assist section and division chiefs to prepare budget recommendations for the procurement of IT hardware, software, peripheral devices, replacement parts, and services. You will maintain annual service contracts for agency infrastructure software licenses and support and initiate annual procurement processes for renewals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch. Work may require travel to remote user locations and other regional offices. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week after successful completion of the probationary period.  This is subject to change depending on work requirements and schedules and is at the Executive Director's discretion.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the office. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1;or Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field;or Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or A bachelor's degree in any information technology field;or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
