Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Fiscal Management Specialist 2 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 2, you will be responsible for the daily management of the Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant (SUPTRS).  This includes preparing weekly expenditure reports and reconciliations, fund analysis reports, budget, expenditure, and encumbrance adjustments, liquidation of commitments, and other associated documents with such appropriations. Within this role, you will provide assistance in the collection, examination, and summarization of fiscal information for DDAP's budget and re-budget materials in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Governor's Budget Office and DDAP, and within the parameters established by legislation and regulations governing the use of such funds.  You will create new and utilize existing databases and spreadsheets to assemble financial data for budgetary evaluation and for generation of special reports and surveys as required for DDAP funds.  You will also have the opportunity to assist in the preparation, submission, and monitoring of special federal categorical grants which include the completion of grant budgets and monitoring and reporting federal grant expenditures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Free parking!

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, however you will be required to report to the office one day per month and for special events.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1; or One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
