Reference #: 4361165 THE POSITION If you are looking for a challenging, rewarding career and possess a keen eye for detail, the Department of Labor & Industry has the position for you!  As a Fiscal Assistant you will provide valued clerical-accounting assistance with projects related to workforce development initiatives with considerable focus on the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act (TAA).  This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your fiscal career and support workforce development programs!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Assistant, you will review, calculate, and approve invoices based upon set procedures and submitted supporting documentation and in accordance with federal and state regulations.  You will review correspondence and invoices and input invoice data into the CWDS Trade system as defined in the TAA Desk Manual.  This includes making payments to students under direct payments, paying invoices from training providers, and ensuring that these are processed correctly and recorded accurately.  It is essential to maintain a current working knowledge of TAA procedures as they pertain to processing invoices.

This position provides critical support to the Bureau of Workforce Development Administration (BWDA) and Bureau of Workforce Partnership and Operations (BWPO) staff in developing and troubleshooting computer systems for TAA funds.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or

An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
