Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Field Investigator in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Field Investigator, you will conduct furlough investigations and criminal records checks on all furlough sponsors. In this position, you will maintain case files, prepare written reports, and compose letters to judges and facilities providing investigative information. Other duties will include maintaining a logbook and contacting various agencies to ascertain any concerns regarding the re-entrant's furlough request. You will also identify problematic areas and provide input to staff regarding furlough considerations, as well as report any suspicious, threatening, non-compliant, or otherwise out-of-the-ordinary behaviors or situations.

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week with approval once your training period has been completed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in public contact work, including two years of experience in field investigation or law enforcement work; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
