DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Executive Secretary 1, you will be responsible for providing confidential, administrative, and clerical support to the Executive Director in addition to other members of the executive team.  Duties include maintaining and organizing the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Directors' calendars, scheduling out-of-state trips and trips within the Commonwealth and inputting travel expense reports, and screening incoming calls for the Executive Director and responding to voicemails.  You will also develop and maintain a regular and confidential filing system that includes correspondence pertinent to the entire OVR operation, as well as correspondence with private agencies, other state agencies, and correspondence relating to all vocational rehabilitation programs and activities.  Excellent interpersonal skills are utilized to maintain contact with public and private executives, various professionals, and other officials on the Executive Director's behalf to provide assistance to them in their dealings with the office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.  Work hours may be flexible within a 7.5 hour workday. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon completion of the training period.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:Most employees will start at the beginning level of the advertised salary. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of progressively responsible experience in secretarial work.  Appropriate formal post high school secretarial training may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
