If so, the Energy Programs Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is looking for an Energy Program Specialist to manage key aspects of the solar program for low and moderate income residential areas under the PA Energy Development Authority (PEDA). DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing key aspects of the PEDA solar program for low and moderate-income households, while also collaborating with DEP and PEDA contractors and organizations that receive funding for solar initiatives. Additionally, you will support various federal and state-funded clean energy programs and contribute to the development and execution of energy efficiency and renewable energy financing programs under PEDA and the Energy Programs Office.

You will play a key role in developing and executing programs aimed at achieving Pennsylvania's energy efficiency and renewable energy objectives through strategic plans from DEP and PEDA, including the Clean Energy Program Plan, Climate Action Plan, State Energy Plan, and PEDA's energy Development Plan. Additionally, you will contribute to the design, execution, and coordination of clean energy financing and assistance programs by DEP and PEDA to optimize the utilization of funds from sources like the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the PEDA Energy Accelerator Program.

Your primary focus will be on the Solar For All program, while also collaborating with DEP's Office of Environmental Justice to create outreach strategies that provide technical support to environmental justice communities for solar projects enhancing health, safety, and climate change resilience, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Your main objective will involve working with environmental justice and disadvantaged communities to assist them in accessing and utilizing federal and state funding opportunities for the implementation of renewable energy projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position will require travel as needed. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the closest headquarters office. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues, and a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or Three years of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues and a bachelor's degree; or A master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
