The Department of Agriculture is seeking a detail-oriented, diligent, and dedicated State Dog Warden to join the team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the role of State Dog Warden, your primary duties will include the enforcement of the Pennsylvania Dog Law, the Rabies Law (Act 181), and other relevant statutes. You will be tasked with inspecting dogs to verify their licensing status as mandated by the State Dog Law, addressing complaints about dogs running at large, investigating incidents of dog bites, and implementing quarantines to safeguard public health. Additionally, you will conduct inquiries to resolve claims for damages inflicted on livestock or poultry by dogs and prepare necessary reports for compensation.

Your responsibilities will also encompass investigating suspected illegal activities related to the transportation or euthanization of dogs, as well as monitoring out-of-state dealers. You will research and examine unlicensed kennels, respond to complaints regarding illegal operations, violations of the State Dog Law, and inhumane conditions in kennels. Each complaint will require a thorough investigation, culminating in a detailed report outlining your findings. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position will be home headquartered in Butler County. If applicant does not live in Butler County, the assigned state vehicle must be parked in Butler county. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in dog law enforcement, animal control, animal welfare, or animal science work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirements:
