The Department of Labor and Industry is currently seeking an efficient and motivated Clerical Assistant 3 to join our team! In this position, you will handle all correspondence related to the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review's (UCBR) second level appeals operations, as well as manage the processing of draft decisions for these appeals to and from the board members for voting and disposition. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will be responsible for answering all UCBR main telephone line calls and processing correspondence requests for appeals at the board level. You will handle a range of tasks, including reviewing reconsideration requests, dealing with appeals sent back from the Commonwealth Court, and preparing decisions from the UCBR for assignment to board members. You will also process draft decisions returned by board members for the next stage, which may involve sending them back to legal for revision, forwarding them to the decision processing unit for issuance, or scheduling them for discussion at the board's meeting.  Additionally, you will welcome and assist visitors, serving as the receptionist for the UCBR central office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours are negotiable. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week after the successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
