Reference #: 4578732 THE POSITION The Department of Transportation is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 to fill a position within the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.  In this position you will assign work identification number (WID) and scan all front- end transactions which creates an audit trail for the transaction and any associated fees.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Clerical Assistant 2 you will utilize a PC and desktop scanner where you will remove check and documents from transporter and place upside down and backwards in the scanner in the correct order (check, separator sheet and supporting documents). Once scanned, this will establish a unified WID number on check and documents. Utilize a keyboard to type appropriate information where needed, i.e., title number, vehicle identification number (VIN), tag number, DL number or name, and the amount of the check(s) or money order(s). Employee must have knowledge of the Ecapture system. A verification must be done by employee of check amount before continuing to the next transaction.

If error occurs with check amount employee must correct before posting and updating to next transaction. Separate the check(s) from the supporting documents and place the check upside down into a check holder and the turns the rest of the supporting documents upside down and places them into another transporter. Organizes the loaded transporters and places completes transporter(s) and separately batched check(s) in proper area for pick-up by the material handler. Employee must meet a set standard of 36-40 transactions scanned per hour and key entered into the Ecapture system set forth by the department. Employee is responsible for changing the ink cartridge to the scanner as needed and proper upkeep. Keep a daily record of production for submission to supervisor at the end of the shift.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment - 80 hours Work hours are7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. During peak seasons, must be available for overtime hours to alleviate workload. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $37,660 (before taxes).
