DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position directs the application development work for the Legacy Development Team within the Solutions Management area of the Conservation and Environment Delivery Center. This includes responsibilities for the systems design, development and implementation, and maintenance of systems within this area. This position, while management in focus, is both technical and managerial. The focus of this position will be to direct the functions of the various applications with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). This position focuses its development efforts within an Oracle Forms, Oracle Apex, Java and some .Net frameworks, and include both internal and externally facing applications. This is a senior position responsible for the planning, directing, and leading of all facets within this team. Some of the systems include but are not limited to environmental Facilities Application Compliance Tracking System (eFACTS), Water Use Data System (WUDS), Air Information System (AIMS), Mining Subsidence Insurance (MSI), Pennsylvania Historical Underground Mining Management Information System (PHUMMIS), Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS), and several other critical legacy systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Senior Applications Developer; or Six years of information technology experience that includes four years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or Four years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements: This particular position also requires a minimum of two years of full-time experience in developing or managing web applications and two years of full-time experience in managing projects utilizing Agile development methodologies.
