DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Automotive Mechanic for the Pennsylvania State Police, you will perform automotive mechanic work related to the specialized upfitting, new fleet processing, and repair of vehicles from all manufacturers including gas, hybrid, and diesel. Responsibilities also include performing annual state inspections for safety and emissions, preventative maintenance, and occasional requests for road service maintenance and repair. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements:

You must possess a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license.

Post Employment Requirement: This position requires employee to obtain a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 1 Certified Inspection Mechanic certificate within the six month probationary period. You must supply your own tool box and basic tools.

Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
