Reference #: 4559563 THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is seeking a versatile and motivated professional to serve as an Attorney 2 within the Office of Chief Counsel for employment, legislative, regulatory, and general matters. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will review and analyze legislation, draft regulatory amendment proposals, assist with responding to Right-to-Know Law requests, and handle some employment-related work. You will perform legal work at the full professional performance level from conducting legal research and drafting opinions, pleadings, and other documents, to the rendering of decisions affecting agency operations and representing the agency before administrative tribunals or courts of law. This includes working under general supervision by a higher-level attorney based on the difficulty of the legal problems encountered. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Work hours are negotiable. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 4 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional legal experience and graduation from an accredited school of law; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Post Employment Requirement:

Applicants must be certified for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and must maintain membership on a continuous basis during employment.

Additional Requirements: You must be a highly motivated Attorney prepared to step into the role with little to no additional training. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): Working experience with the Right-to-Know Law Working experience with the regulatory review process Working experience with employment-related matters

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports. See hiring agency contact information. You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
