Reference #: 4497686 THE POSITION The Department of General Services is looking for an insurance professional to join our Underwriting and Risk team. Apply today for this next opportunity in your professional career.   DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Department of General Services through the Bureau of Finance and Risk Management is responsible for the acquisition and management of insurance coverage for Commonwealth entities and officials.  This position holds a critical role in these responsibilities by acting as the administrator for the State Insurance Fund. You will have the opportunity to compile and present critical data and reports for the annual Excess Insurance binding, research requests for additional policies not covered by the State Insurance Fund and serve as a liaison between the Commonwealth and its insurance broker and carriers.  The incumbent selected for this position will also be required to hold a valid notary license and perform notary duties for the bureau.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Administrative Officer 1. or Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior underwriting experience. Notary license (selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Notary license).
