DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will focus primarily on supporting the Unclaimed Property Mail/Scan unit. You will be responsible for verifying mail is opened, sorted, and distributed in a timely and accurate manner; scanned into the document management system; and ensuring the safekeeping of original documents by following documented record retention procedures. This position is also responsible for receipting deposits received and verifying with department designated financial institutions that unclaimed property monies have been deposited. The role also involves providing guidance as a lead worker, determining the best solutions to address inquiries, and crafting professional email responses to coworkers and vendors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: At least two years of progressively responsible experience pertinent to the position and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training Additional Requirements: You must be able to lift 50 pounds. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Experience in the operation of scanners, mail opening machine, bar code producing machines, copier, and fax machine. Experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, web based utilities and the ability to learn relevant software applications to perform job duties. Ability to work independently to complete assignments and handle a high volume of work in an efficient manner. Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
