Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Administrative Assistant 1 (Limited Term) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4816693 THE POSITION The Department of Health, Bureau of Health Statistics and Registries is seeking an Administrative Assistant 1 who is detail-oriented and highly organized to join their Division of Statistical Registries team. As a part of this team, you will support the bureau's mission of managing statewide registrations for vital events. You will be involved in the supervision of activities related to registry records and leading process improvement efforts. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that birth records are updated correctly and in accordance with regulations. You will analyze requests for corrections or amendments to birth records and investigate any discrepancies or suspicious information. In addition, you will be responsible for developing benchmarks and measures to assess employee productivity and the quality of work being done. Your work will involve analyzing the workload and work flow of the office, as well as external factors that could impact productivity and quality. You will also be expected to review and assess operational procedures and policies to ensure they are effective, efficient, and compliant with laws and regulations. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Limited term, full-time employment with benefits (Bronze Plan). Duration of employment is approximately six months with possible extension for an additional 6 months. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. 37.5 hours per week Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to  report to the office 1 day scheduled per month and as needed for training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. This position will have two weeks minimum of mandatory on-site training. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
