Description

We're looking for an experience Account Payable Specialist for a local Harrisburg non profit. This Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing and executing all tasks related to processing payments in a timely manner for the company's expenditures.

Job description includes:

• Processing invoices and maintaining records of amount owed by the company to its vendors.

• Complying with financial policies and procedures.

• Ensuring correct approval, sorting, coding, and matching of invoices/receipts.

• Completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

• Communicating with vendors regarding billing issues and payment schedules.

• Preparing regular or special reports to track the accounts payable status.

• Assisting with month end close and auditing tasks.

• Regularly reviewing operations, processes, and suggesting methods of improvement if necessary.

• Maintaining confidentiality of organizational operations and protections.

• Managing petty cash.

• Supporting the team by accomplishing tasks as needed.

Requirements

• College degree in Accounting, or previous experience in a similar job.

• Prior experience using MS Excel.

• Clear understanding of accounts payable procedures. Ability to handle many invoices.

• Must be accurate, efficient, and good at finding and fixing mistakes.

• Organized and can manage multiple tasks on a tight schedule.

• Must be good at communicating, both in speaking and writing.

• Expected to respect confidentiality and follow company rules.

• Good at solving problems and can handle issues with accounts. Experience with audits and reports is a plus.
