Job Summary:

AIP is looking for a Part Time Alarm Monitor to work in Harper's Ferry, WV supporting Customs and Border Protection. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitors surveillance cameras and equipment

  • Accesses control systems, fire alarms, intrusion detection systems and other protective equipment/systems

  • Monitors and logs radio transmissions using call signs

  • Answers the telephone, takes messages

  • Maintains Duty Log in legible manner

  • Dispatches and/or notifies Security Guards of all unusual activity

  • Reports and documents same, summons resources and coordinates emergency personnel responding to emergencies and document same

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be US Citizen

  • All personnel must be able to pass a favorably single scope background investigation (SSBI) prior to commencing work

  • All Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment Medical exam to include drug screening

  • Be in possession of a valid Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration

  • Be at least 21 years of age

  • Possess either a high school diploma or a GED equivalency certificate

  • Be able to speak English fluently, read and comprehend written English, and compose coherent written reports in English

  • Be in possession of a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in his/her state of residence

  • Additionally, applicants for Alarm Monitor must meet the criteria set forth in sub section 1.

Sub Section 1:

  • Shall have a minimum of 1 year experience in basic law enforcement, emergency dispatch, or related field

  • Shall have the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions

  • Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing, maintain records and prepare reports

  • Work independently with little direction

  • Maintain professional communication with local law enforcement agencies and fire departments

  • Respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner, and provide training to other Alarm Monitors to perform the essential functions of the job

  • Utilize criminal justice databases provided by the Government to assist in the vetting of visitors and short-term contractors
