Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity in the Manufacturing industry just outside of Summerville, SC. The role of Controller involves supervising all accounting activities, including general accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls. You will be expected to appraise operating results, prepare financial statements, and contribute to increased profit opportunities.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounting activities, including the maintenance of fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports
• Supervise general accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls
• Appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies of operation, and trends
• Prepare financial statements and other reports for management
• Maintain and develop the chart of accounts and ensure correct classification of accounting
• Maintain internal accounting controls and provide management with accurate and timely reporting of production-related financial statements
• Prepare financial and budgetary data for corporate use in predicting profit/loss criteria, reflecting plant condition, and driving business to manage budget requirements
• Train employees in plant accounting procedures and work with plant associates on process improvements
• Act as the immediate contact with the organization's independent auditors on accounting and operational matters for the plant
• Formulate and administer approved accounting practices throughout the plant to ensure accurate financial and operating reports
• Monitor and supervise cash deposits at the plant
• Communicate effectively with customers to align all associates on the same page related to projects and issues concerning the operation
• Analyze business flows within the organization and make recommendations to the Business Management team related to process improvements and profitability improvements
• Review equipment and real estate leases to determine economic appropriateness relative to other sources of financing
• Maintain and monitor inventory control procedures affecting all warehouse operations, storage of raw and finished products and take physical inventories on a periodic time schedule.
Requirements • Proven experience with Accounting Functions.
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Familiarity with Auditing practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of Budget Processes in manufacturing industries.
• Proficiency in using SAP software for financial operations.
• Prior experience in the Manufacturing industry, preferably in Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing.
• Understanding of Manufacturing Cost Accounting and its application.
• Expertise in Cost Accounting practices.
• Ability to generate accurate Financial Reporting.
• Experience with Month End Close processes.
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation.
• Expertise in Credit Card Reconciliation.
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.
• Skills in Financial Reconciliation procedures.
• Expertise in managing General Ledger operations.
