Summary

The Shipping Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the shipping operations within Allen Harim. This role ensures that all shipping activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.

\ Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping operations, including the loading and unloading of goods
• Obtain sales orders from Corporate which are realistically obtainable within the required customers time frame.
• Monitor and report on shipping performance, including on time delivery and cost metrics
• Ensure the maintenance and proper use of shipping equipment and vehicles
• Responsible for the safety and health of department employees, which includes but is not limited to, safety and health awareness and training, accident prevention and incident investigations, and safe work practices.
• Provide each Shift Manager with the sales product mix to allow for proper mechanical set up of processing equipment.
• Direct accurate manifesting and loading of poultry on 20+ dress haul loads per working day.
• Maintain quality by keeping accurate inventories, rotating products in the coolers, and keeping uniform pallet stacking.
• Maintain proper staffing as authorized.
• Responsible for safety, loss prevention, departmental training, and discipline within the department.
• Provide continuous information to Shift Manager relative to production and shipping. Works closely with Superintendent of Second Processing on production progress.
• Provide assistance to the Shift Manager on special projects as required.
• Develop and cross train personnel to provide backup for vacation and illnesses.
• Work within Allen Harim Management System.
• All other related duties as assigned.

• Must have the ability to enter all areas of the plant and offices being exposed to temperatures (Hot and Cold) as well as exposure to different levels of noise.
• Must have the ability to enter all areas of the plant and offices.
• Must be able to climb and crawl in confined spaces.

Work Environment

• Work environment is predominantly wet and exposed to a variety of odors as well as presenting with hot and cold temperatures. Ice box storage and chilled warehouse conditions may be present with moderate to extreme levels of noise. Safety protection is provided.
