COLSA Corporation Senior Test Engineer - Integrated Project Team in Hanscom Air Force Base, Maryland

COLSA is searching for a senior systems engineer with requirement analysis, system architecture, and systems test experience to support the USAF developmental test & evaluation (DT&E) of new and modified Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems and network capabilities within the guidelines established in Government approved test plans, procedures, and go or no-go criteria.

As a member of an integrated product team, the individual would develop and test advanced concepts that span next generation or new network capabilities for the US Air Force. This position requires an motivation and initiative to support developmental testing in a dynamic high tempo environment. This position provides support to the CTG 96 at Hanscom AFB, MA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage Information Technology (IT) and network infrastructure development test execution.

  • Participate in test planning and execution, data collection and analysis, assessing systems effectiveness, and test reporting.

  • Recommend system performance requirements, development of test objectives, development of test methods and detailed test procedures, development of specification data requirements, identification of instrumentation and test support equipment requirements, coordination with test support agencies and ranges, and other DT&E tasks.

  • Review technical specifications and system design documents. Facilitate test planning meetings, technical interchange meetings, and system design reviews.

  • Review and comment on programmatic documents to include test and evaluation master plans and qualification test procedures for systems under test.

  • Coordinate with system program offices to define test methods and objectives, and develop test plans and procedures for newly developed or modified C4ISR systems.

  • Coordinate with internal and external test communities and support activities to schedule test resources, ranges, facilities etc.

  • Define data requirements and coordinate with instrumentation and data personnel to ensure required data is collected.

  • Brief test members and support personnel on mission objectives, duties, and responsibilities to execute integration lab and other test events.

  • Conduct and directs systems test events to accomplish planned test objectives.

  • Analyze test data to determine system performance and deficiencies; write technical reports to document results and conclusions.

  • Provide technical advice and assistance to military test directors.

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field and a minimum of10 years of experience.

  • Active TOP SECRET clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a SCI – (Single Scope Background Investigation). US Citizenship required.

  • Must have experience with airborne network infrastructures, information technology, or C4ISR systems.

  • Must be familiar with DevSecOps and Agile software development practices.

  • Must be able to work within system integration labs during test activities

  • Must have good writing/oral presentation skills.

  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

  • Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work effectively in small and large team settings to solve complex problems.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Active and current DoD TS/SCI

  • Master’s Degree or 10 years of experience in a relevant technical field

  • Expertise with US Air Force test and evaluation methodologies and processes is desirable.

  • Experience with IT and network infrastructures are desirable.

  • Experience with commercial cloud-based infrastructures, platforms, and services is desirable.

  • Experience with modern cybersecurity approaches for multi-level security, zero-trust, and data encryption is desirable.

  • Experience with modular software architecture and Cloud-native applications or platforms are desirable.
