An exciting opportunity is now available for a Registered Dietitian. As a Registered Dietitian you will plan, direct and provide nutritional assessment and care to patients/residents and provide community nutrition education pursuant to UPHS - Portage’s mission and philosophy. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including Physicians, Nursing, Pharmacy and Nutrition Services with the goal of overall wellness and medical nutritionally therapy for all those we serve.
Required Skills: • Knowledge of specialty clinical areas desired, i.e., dialysis, diabetes and long term care • Knowledge of learning principles • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. • Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
Position Requirements: School of Dietetics Bachelor’s Degree Required Two years’ experience as Dietitian in Healthcare Preferred Two years’ experience working in Diabetes Education Preferred Appropriate State Licensure or Certification Required Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) Certification Preferred or willingness to work towards CDE Preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required (available upon hire) Annual Influenza Vaccination or Declination Required
Position Details: .6 - .9 FTE (24 to 36 hours per week) – Candidate able to choose part-time or full-time Day Shift Weekdays Only
