Hiring Electro-Mechanical Technicians

Job Description

Devises, selects, sets up, and operates electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus used for operation and environmental testing of mechanical, structural, or electrical equipment, and translates test data for engineering personnel by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow the information on work instructions.

  • Record data either manually or by computer as required.

  • Select, install, calibrate, and check sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation and circuitry.

  • Develop specifications for nonstandard apparatus according to engineering data, characteristics of equipment under test, and capabilities of procurable test apparatus.

  • Troubleshoot control logic through PLC interface using software to isolate and repair fault conditions.

  • Install or direct technical personnel in the installation of units in test chambers or other test facilities.

  • Operate test apparatus during test cycles to produce, regulate, and record effects of actual or simulated conditions such as vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, and acceleration.

  • Analyze and convert test data to usable form and prepare graphs and written reports to translate test results.

  • Plan test programs.

  • Use computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce graphs.

  • Comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines, including regular attendance and occasional overtime.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and electronic controls

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 5 years industrial/manufacturing experience

  • Must be able to provide documentation in the original form establishing both your identity and your employment eligibility in the U.S.

  • Ability to lawfully obtain access to export-controlled items

  • Preferred: Associate's degree in Electronics

The pay range for this position is $15081.00 - $80000.00
