Robert Half Purchasing Specialist in Hampton, New Hampshire
Description
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for all procurement activities related to goods and services. You will join an experienced team of employees and be involved in all aspects of procurement management, ranging from the sourcing of new suppliers, ensuring purchased products meet the quality and quantity expectations for the company, negotiating contractual agreements, evaluating suppler performance, and working with inventory and program management to evaluate stock levels and adjust accordingly. The purchasing specialist will also be responsible for ensuring delivery schedules meet contractual and performance objectives and resolve supplier issues and discrepancies.
Significant Responsibilities include:
· Ensure compliance with purchasing and contractual requirements
· Negotiate purchase agreements and ensure products meet required specifications
· Manage vendor relations
· Assist with key vendor statistics such as on-time delivery, first pass yield, etc.
· Communicate status with Manufacturing, Quality and Program Management
· Monitor industry feeds to help maintain the company in compliance with Counterfeit Parts Detection/Avoidance
· Work directly with Quality Manager to remedy CPARs and other quality issues related to purchased goods and services
· Create CBOMs and maintain accurate PO and Quote logs
· Maintain supplier Reps & Certs folders
· Work both autonomously and with a team to complete all tasks with general supervision
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
· Minimum 2+ years related experience
· Prior Procurement experience required
· Proficient with Microsoft tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Extreme attention to detail
· Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Previous Defense Contracting experience desired
