Salary Description $22-$30 based on experience
Primary Functions and Responsibilities: The Label Technician will be responsible for various aspects of label engineering, artwork pre-flights, and ticket information quality control. The purpose of the Label Technician position is to ensure correct and complete ticket information as well as to determine if the customer's artwork matches the received job order information and if the customer's request is producible with the plant's capabilities.
Label Artwork Pre-flighting: Preflight customer artwork to determine if the plant can produce the customer's product. Resolve any issues related to missing artwork assets or unclear artwork specifications by corresponding with the CSR and escalating any complex issues to the customer.
Job Ticket Information Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on Label Traxx ticket entries to ensure all ticket information has been supplied and is accurate. Address any issues related to ticket quality and escalate problems to relevant teams as needed.
Job Ticket Information Entry: • The ticket information the Label Technician is responsible for entering into the Label Traxx ERP system is as follows: • Label Specifications • Label Shape • Number Across • Number Around • Size Across • Size Around • Column Space • Row Space • Corner Radius • Tooling • Dies • Tooth • Stock Width • Common Plates • Color Specifications • Number of Colors (including Foils and Varnishes) • Floods • Ink Order
Label Engineering: Determine the print order of all inks/colors Determine the number of specialties finishes i.e., metallic inks, varnishes, foils, etc. required to produce the label as indicated by the customer's artwork in comparison with the Label Traxx ticket information. Resolve any issues related to missing artwork assets or unclear artwork specifications by corresponding with the CSR and escalating any complex issues to the customer.
Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot artwork issues by corresponding with the CSR and escalating complex issues to the client if necessary to provide effective artwork solutions. Collaborate with CSRs, Materials Purchasing, and Production to resolve issues related to customer expectations in comparison to the STL plant's production capabilities.
CSR Error Tracking: Record ticket information errors to provide documentation the CSR Supervisor may use to aid in the continuous improvement of the CSR department.
Collaboration: Collaborate with Prepress, Customer Service, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless workflow and accurate label production.
Education and Experience: • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). • To perform this job successfully, an individual must understand upstream operations, downstream operations, and be able to perform each essential duty within the department satisfactorily. • The ability to be discreet with company confidential information, reports errors, incidents, and problems to appropriate personnel. • Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office, (Proficient in Word and Excel) and an understanding of the current data collection system. • Hands-on knowledge of process and S.M.E.D. training is desired. • Must be able to help troubleshoot equipment and provide feedback to department supervisor and maintenance personnel. • Must take initiative, be resourceful, and willing to accept responsibility and accountability. • Mus
