Job Title: Electronic Engineering TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking an Electronic Engineering Technician to join our Electrical Engineering Department. This role involves a variety of tasks related to machine wiring and control panel building. You will work closely with the engineering team to build, wire, and troubleshoot new and used equipment, making PLC, HMI, and electrical drawing edits. Additionally, you will assist plants in troubleshooting new and used machines and occasionally travel to plants to support installations and provide guidance to maintenance technicians.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand electrical drawings for machine control panels, including enclosure, subpanel, schematics, and BOM.

• Layout, assemble, and wire electrical panels to UL508A specifications.

• Assemble panels and wire machinery to NFPA 79A specifications.

• Make electrical drawing edits in AutoCAD.

• Perform runoff of control panels and equipment.

• Load/Edit PLC programs.

• Load/Edit HMI programs.

• Load/Edit VFD programs.

• Provide plant support by troubleshooting machines via phone and onsite when needed.

• Remote connect to machines for troubleshooting.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience working within a custom panel shop.

• Ability to troubleshoot PLC and edit/write code using Siemens, Yaskawa, and Direct Soft.

• Associates Degree in a relevant field.

• Ability to read electrical schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD.

• Familiarity with UL508A and NFPA 79A specifications.

Work Environment

This position is located at our New Miami facility near Hamilton, OH. The team consists of 5 other members and this role is a new addition due to department growth. The role is 5 days in the office with occasional weekend work. Expect 5-10 hours of overtime per week, compensated at 1.5x rate. Up to 20% travel to other facilities is required, though typically less. Initial travel will be limited as you become familiar with our standards, increasing to about one week per month or every other month. Travel expenses are covered via a company travel card.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
