Description

We are looking for a proficient Cost Accountant to join our clients' team in the Waste, Refuse, and Environmental Waste Management industry. The position is based in Hamilton, New Jersey area and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our accounting operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate recording of financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, accounts payable, and receivable.

• Preparation of financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Ensuring compliance with tax laws by preparing and filing tax returns accurately and on time.

• Performing audits of financial records to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

• Assisting in budgeting and forecasting by analyzing financial data and trends.

• Analyzing financial data to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.

• Providing financial advice on matters such as investments, financial planning, risk management, and business expansion.

• Providing management with cost analysis, budgeting support, and performance evaluation to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

• Ensuring compliance with changes in financial regulations.

• Proficiency in using accounting software tools such as QuickBooks and Excel for tasks like bookkeeping, data analysis, and financial reporting.

Requirements • Must possess a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or similar role within the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Management industry

• Solid knowledge of accounting and finance principles, laws and best practices

• Strong proficiency in relevant software, such as Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

• Strong time management skills; able to meet deadlines efficiently

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting

• Proficient understanding of accounting entries

• Must possess professional ethics and a high level of integrity

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
