JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Registered Nurse supports residents' health, wellness, and illness prevention by developing, managing, and monitoring nursing care plans tailored to meet each resident's medical, physical, and emotional needs. The RN oversees the day-to-day clinical activities of health care personnel (e.g., LPNs and CNAs) while maintaining a nurturing environment for residents and striving to meet their maximum security and comfort needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct care and treatment to long-term and rehabilitation residents. Provide assessment and documentation of residents under their care. Initiates and administers Intravenous treatments. Communicates with the nursing team and medical team as appropriate. Reviews and evaluates the resident care plan. Transcribes Physician orders and may assist in orientating new staff. Maintains competency in all site-specific tasks required by the facility.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 18 years of age
New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure (RN)
Experience in long-term care facility preferred
Able to interpret patient information and make critical decisions about necessary actions
Ability to supervise and work well with and show respect toward other healthcare personnel (i.e., CNAs, LPNs, physicians, etc.), residents, and their family members
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to follow written and oral instructions
Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
