Oracle Application Specialist - SPMS in HAMBURG, Germany

Job Description

As a member of the Oracle Hospitality Cruise Support Organization, your primary responsibilities will include supporting Oracle Shipboard Property Management System products both locally and on-board cruise and river ships, including their shore side HQ locations. You will also offer post-implementation assistance, and advocate for customer needs. Support operations run 24/7, with rotating weekends.

Our SPMS solutions encompass all areas of on-board operations across departments such as Immigration, Payroll, Passenger and Crew handling, Safety and Security, and more. As an SPMS Application Specialist, you will implement and support our SPMS and SMART Systems on-board cruise vessels globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various complex duties requiring independent judgment to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs on board cruise and river ships or shore side locations.

  • Lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagements, ensuring high-quality, integrated software solutions within time and budget constraints.

  • Effectively communicate with customers both shoreside and shipboard.

  • Serve as the technical interface for customers regarding problem resolution, recommended maintenance, and the use of Oracle products.

  • Possess an understanding of all Oracle products in the competency area and in-depth knowledge of several products and/or platforms.

  • Act independently while researching and developing solutions to customer issues.

  • Resolve post-sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic means, as well as technical questions regarding the use of and troubleshooting for Oracle Hospitality Cruise products.

  • Facilitate customer relationships with Support and provide advice and assistance to internal Oracle employees on various customer situations and escalated issues.

  • Address any functionality gaps by answering operational and application questions.

  • Provide technical support to customers post "go-live."

  • Communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients.

  • Travel internationally up to 25%.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor-----s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience with Property Management systems (as an end-user or administrator) is an advantage.

  • 1+ years of Hospitality Management experience (preferably in Cruise Ship Operations) with a good understanding of on-board cruise operations, especially in accounting, first purser, chief purser, or IT officer roles.

  • Several years of consulting and/or customer support experience for software applications with a strong IT background and the ability to understand complex IT systems and networking.

  • Experience with database analysis, administration, and troubleshooting, as well as creating SQL scripts and queries, is an advantage.

  • Fluent English, both spoken and written, is essential.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating at all levels of client organizations.

  • A self-driven, positive, energetic, and results-oriented individual who enjoys working in a multi-national and global team.

  • NOTE: Based on education and experience, candidate may be eligible for a higher jobcode, i.e. IC2.
