POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ancillary Service Support – Janitor position works as a staff member of the Ancillary Team. This position

reports to the designated Ancillary Service Supervisor/Manager or other designated supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs all tasks relating to maintaining the cleanliness of the facility. Duties include but are not limited to:

cleans and sanitizes staff bathrooms; vacuums, steam cleans and/or shampoos carpets, including stain removal;

cleans, waxes and strips tile and linoleum floors; cleans windows, sills and window tracks; removes garbage;

cleans out heater vents; cleans walkways, driveways, parking lots and loading docks.

  1. Specific to Silver State Academy - Duties related to laundry services include but are not limited to: washes,

dries, folds unit clothing, athletic uniforms and other items requiring laundering; maintains a unit clothing

laundry log for accountability of items delivered for laundering; cleans, organizes and maintains the clothing

overflow closet; and performs user maintenance on laundry equipment (within the scope of the user’s ability)

and reports any equipment malfunctions to maintenance.

  1. Completes required reports and documentation in a timely manner, where applicable, and provides management

with required reports and advises of any problematic situations.

  1. Complies with and implements the ROP Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate

manuals/handbooks.

  1. Ensures the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to ensure the

program remains in compliance with agency licensing and ROP policies and procedures.

  1. Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts.

  2. Attends and participates in all required meetings.

  3. Ensures the safety, health and welfare of staff and students at all times.

  4. Provides encouragement, guidance and resources to staff and students when needed.

  5. Models and ensures all program norms are upheld without compromise.

  6. Acts as a positive role model and mentor for both staff and students.

  7. Treats others with respect, confronts negative behavior and supports confrontations.

  8. Commits to attending all training and staff development classes in order to ensure sufficient hours of training on

an annual basis. Notifies supervisor if annual training hours are deficient.

  1. Other duties as assigned, verbally or in written form.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

  2. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to

be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving

record for the past three (3) years.

  1. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.

  2. Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects.

  3. Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.

  4. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

  5. Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing.

  6. Ability to work the designated schedule with the possibility of a varied schedule and overtime.

  7. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  8. Must have excellent organization and time management skills.

  9. Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships.

  10. Ability to provide exemplary customer service to all employees and outside constituents.

  11. Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a multi-task environment.

  12. Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing

business conditions.

  1. Proficient in the use of computers and associated software.
