About You and This Role

Dowhas an exciting job opportunity for anInstrument Technicianlocated inHahnville (LA, USA).

As an Instrument Technician, you will provide maintenance craft specific support to plants. Maintain and repair all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. This role requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and correct equipment problems

  • Calibrate and align equipment

  • Complete preventative maintenance activities

  • Check sizing of components and parts

  • Specify, requisition, and install parts and equipment

  • Coordinate maintenance spare parts

  • Assist in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input

  • Setup and calibrate, test, measure and repair all types of control and instrument with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables

  • Repair, maintain and install equipment and machinery which is used in the process

  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and document failure analysis

  • Collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements

  • Work within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required

  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license

  • SIS certification (Safety Instrumented Systems)

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (i.e. associate's degree) plus maintenance, manufacturing or other related experience preferred. In lieu of degree, equivalent years of experience required

Physical Demands

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting

  • Stand 50% of the time

  • Walk for extended periods of time

  • Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders

  • Work in tight and closed in spaces

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator

Preferred Skills

  • ​Preventive Maintenance- Have a proactive approach to maintaining equipment and facilities to prevent unexpected breakdowns

  • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)– Be able to take the steps necessary to fix the problem, determine its cause, and prevent it from happening again
