Job Description
As a Vehicle Project Engineer, you will work alongside designers, customers, and systems suppliers, as well as service and manufacturing engineers. You must demonstrate a passion for innovation and an understanding of various engineering systems. You will serve as the technical representative to project teams, suppliers, customers, and external parties, interface with customers on the technical design solution, and resolve design open points.
Responsibilities
Coordinate design teams during the entire project lifecycle from bid to delivery and vehicle qualification phases.
Prepare project design documents for bids or projects.
Define and manage design reviews with design teams or customers.
Prepare project documentation such as engineering plans and design review reports.
Manage project KPIs and open items using structured templates.
Represent engineering during cross-functional meetings with project managers, procurement, and manufacturing departments throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate testing activities with related departments to manage complete project validation.
Essential Skills
Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.
2-3 years of experience in industry sector projects, with a preference for past experience in rolling stock projects.
Knowledge of the basic concepts of RAMS disciplines.
Knowledge of main regulations related to on-board systems in the railway business.
Proficiency in main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Understanding of system engineering processes and main regulations in the railway field for managing design activities, development, and functional integration of subsystems of railway vehicle platforms.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of electrical/mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, etc.) is recommended.
Familiarity with the IBM DOORS requirements management tool is recommended.
Understanding of engineering processes and railway operations.

The facility is known for its advanced technology and sustainability initiatives. It produces modern railcars for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) and the broader North American market. The state-of-the-art factory covers 307,000 square feet and incorporates energy-efficient design, renewable energy sources, water conservation, comprehensive recycling programs, and sustainable materials. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
Full benefits include PTO, medical, dental vision. Will update this with more information upon qualification process.
