What you will do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and modification of 2D drawings and schematics using AutoCAD software, adhering to industry standards and specifications.

  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate conceptual ideas into detailed 3D models and assemblies using AutoCAD 3D modeling tools.

  • Support the development and implementation of layout designs for manufacturing facilities, incorporating 2D and 3D CAD representations for equipment placement and workflow optimization.

  • Assist in conducting time and motion studies to analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

  • Participate in project teams focused on continuous improvement initiatives, providing technical support and contributing ideas for process optimization.

  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including reports, presentations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to industrial engineering projects.

  • Learn and apply best practices for AutoCAD software usage, including file management, layer organization, and dimensioning techniques.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AutoCAD drawings, models, and simulations.

  • Support the integration of AutoCAD technologies into manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, 3D printing, and assembly operations.

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills in industrial engineering principles, AutoCAD software, and related tools and technologies.

  • Prior internship or coursework experience in industrial engineering or CAD design is preferred but not required.

Internship Requirements:

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Engineering Degree (Industrial and Mechanical). Preferred specializations are Manufacturing at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the co-op.

  • Applicants must have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.

  • Co-op may work up to 40 hours per week during the spring.

  • Co-ops should be receiving credit or academic notation for their participation in the co-op.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Valid US Work authorization.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
