What you’ll do:

We are looking forward to onboard Engineer - V&V/ Testing, who will be required to work on Testing of System, Firmware codes in Fire Business in Electrical Sector Life Safety division. Primary work will include -

• Understanding the requirements, study VOC, compliance standards to get insight on test methods.

• Design & develop test architecture, test plan.

• Establishing a system level setup of electrical panels & devices, testing the firmware code on actual system. Identifying & reporting bugs in code & working setup. Support developer in resolving bugs by quick test at module or sub-system level.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, global engineering team to develop test strategy during project execution considering end user in focus.

• Lead functional & performance testing on electrical products in Fire portfolio as part of project execution.

• Develop understanding on requirements, VOC, compliance standards and draw appropriate conclusion from the available information in a timely fashion

• Develop understanding of both technology and product concepts and articulate product test strategy. Ensure quality of delivery in accordance with the plan adhering to the standard practices used in agile/waterfall model.

• Experience in code reviews with team members for modules/tasks and ensuring that best practices and efficient coding standards are adhered to

• Suggest and develops re-usable test modules and looks for continuous improvement opportunities in Electrical Fire products. Share knowledge within the team and demonstrate flexibility working in parallel on multiple products.

• Identify opportunities for improvement in test execution in efficient way using Test automation, DMAIC methodology

•Develop Test Environment/ Setup as planned for testing and create test setups for testing with Hardware environment.

Qualifications:

B.E. Electronics or Electronics & Telecommunications

Required: 4-6 Years of total experience

• 3+ years of experience in Software/firmware quality assurance & Hardware product testing

• 2+ years of hands on experience in System level testing for electronic products & driving improvement using automation

Skills:

Proven experience in functional and performance testing and driving system specs into test plans with Hardware/ Embedded Design Knowledge and Hardware/Firmware Debugging Skills

• Experience in both Manual & automation testing of Firmware modules or product features testing, with test plan development.

• Experience in Python, or other scripting languages for testing and knowledge of Java, C# etc.

• Exposure to Hardware protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN etc.), network tools and basic knowledge of protocol testing

• Experience in understanding VOC, requirement specifications and able to define engineering specifications & testing requirements.

• Hands-on experience on tools like JIRA/JAMA for requirements & test plan management.

• Participate in solution and code reviews with team members for modules/tasks and ensuring that best practices and efficient coding standards are adhered to. Participate in RCA with development team whenever critical issues reported.

• Suggest and develop re-usable components and looks for continuous improvement opportunities using automation & leveraging DMAIC methodology in Electrical Fire products. Share knowledge within the team and demonstrates flexibility working in parallel on multiple assignments/product categories.

• Experience collaborating with local / global suppliers for Hardware/Software procurement, building test lab setups etc.

• Should be open to work on any tools, technology, projects as per business needs.

• Should be able to work individually or as a team player as per project needs

• Must have proven track record of validating high quality products.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Effort & resource estimation, Self-driven with high degree of aptitude, Problem solving skills, Working in ambiguity.
