What you’ll do:

Primary responsibility of this position will be to lead & manage an engineering team on design and development of Bussmann Fusible products range primarily for US markets. He/she will be responsible for driving a culture of innovation, learning & continuous improvement while executing the projects which include NPI, NTI, VAVE, Cost out, Process improvement, Customer order Engineering (COE) & Engineering quality. He/ she will be responsible for creating & implementing the roadmap for developing capabilities in line with the strategic plan over the next few years. He/she will be directly responsible for People management, which includes grooming talent, Motivation, Hiring and retention to deliver high performance for leading & owing engineering element will be prime focus.

• At Eaton India Innovation Center, Electrical Sector Americas is looking for Engineering Leader to join our Bussmann UL division part of Controls & Protection group.

• Manages department budget and performance to forecast.

• Lead a team of 10+ members working on Bussmann UL Division products in Fusible products - Fuses, Fusible switches, Fusible Panelboards & Electro-mechanical development.

• Shape Focus area and build portfolio that matters. Define clear road map for next 3 - 5 years and execute action items to mitigate identified gaps. Leverage EIIC ecosystem for validation to accelerate time to market.

• Work & aligin algonside Lead Engg's & Specialist technical experts of the team to drive & execute projects and make day to day engineering decisions. Should be well acquainted with different phases of product development and engineering aspects as required for project execution.

• Drive growth & accelerate capability development in line with strategy. Lead efforts to enrich Product Design & Development Lifecycle(PDLC) experience and gain end to end accountabilities on focus areas. Develop technology roadmap aligned with business strategic plan & EIIC strategic roadmaps for the group.

• Deliver on results of self and from team for Technology explorations, NTI to NPI conversions, NPI projects gates progression & launches, VAVE cost out results, plant or customer issue resolutions

• Lead cross functional / multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions in line with division's strategy and future growth plans.

• Provide brokerage between Bussmann UL division and shared COEs in EIIC (cyber, CCIS, CDP&T, IP Lab etc.)

• Build culture of innovation through planned events, participating in brain storming. Identify opportunities for filling disclosures and execute division goals for IP.

• Recruit and retain a team of engineers to drive product development per global engineering focus. Should be able to set realistic goals for self and team. Leverage performance management, development plans and best practices to continuously improve team performance.

• Drive analysis first via DFx methodology and data driven decisions culture within the team to achieve engineering excellence."

Qualifications:

B.E./BTech / M-Tech / ME in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

"• 12+ yrears of proven track record of demonstrating competencies to manage a large and diverse team in global environment in Electrical Switchgear domain.

Skills:

• Design and development experience related to products like Low Voltage (LV) short circuit protective devices: Fuses (LV, MV), Fusible Switches, Panelboards, Electrical Safety products, LV circuit breaker (ACB and MCCB), Overload Relays.

• Manufacturing knowledge for Sheetmetal, plastics, stamping, molding, machining, casting, & assembly processes and tooling. Good knowledge on materials - ferrous & non-ferrous metals, plastics.

• Strong Knowledge of UL & IEC, ANSI standards.

• On hands validation experiences & exposure in CPRI, ERDA, UL local & global Labs.

• Strong background in DFSS with GB/BB certification.

• Drive growth in respective team in Embedded & Mechanical areas in product engineering.Digital mindset

• Working knowledge of CAD/CAE software like Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD with tolerance stack up, GD&T. PLM- Enovia working knowledge.

• Good analytical skills in mechanical disciplines.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.

• Good communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to customers, and technical staff.
