Hackensack Meridian Health Senior Audiologist, Full-Time in Hackensack, New Jersey

The Sr Audiologist performs as a staff clinician utilizing the professional skills of an experienced, highly competent Audiologist to provide diagnostic and treatment services to pediatric and adult patients.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Senior Audiologist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Oversees staff audiologists at respective sites regarding patient care, charting, accountability, ensuring that each staff member is scheduled appropriately and meets required patient contacts.

  • Assumes all duties and responsibilities of a clinical audiologist with number of patient contact hours determined by Mgr, Audiology.

  • Advises staff audiologists regarding direct patient care and indirect patient-related accountability (e.g., written reports and preparation of patient charts to ASHA and JCAHO standards).

  • Ensures section coverage at all team staffings and site activities and acts as primary substitute.

  • Monitors performance, oversees Audiology Department staff at respective sites, reports weekly to chief, and assists in quarterly performance appraisals of staff.

  • Responsible for assuring that the appropriate clinical procedures with regard to scheduling, follow-up and care of patients is provided in the designated section of the Audiology Department.

  • Maintains and calibrates all acoustic equipment and maintains log according to ASHA standards.

  • Acts as a liaison to Mgr, Audiology in for such outside agencies as Bergen County Hearing Impaired Program.

  • Designs and coordinates new services and trains staff in fulfilling requirements of these as appropriate for satellite site, i.e. FM Clinic.

  • Capable of addressing clinical questions/concerns from patients, family members, referring physicians, and potential consumers of service.

  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Master's degree in Audiology.

  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical hospital experience.

  • Postgraduate course experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • CCC-Audiology or CCC.

  • New Jersey State License in Audiology.
