The Research Business Operations Associate supports all aspects of the research. The Research Business Operations Associate oversees department invoicing, ordering supplies, vendor payments, and legal agreement submissions through legal portals and purchasing portals.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Research Business Operations Associate at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Orders supplies,equipment and materials needed as requested.

  • Facilitates communications between vendors and stakeholders.

  • Liaise with the Accounts Payable team on payment status.

  • Liaise with the Purchasing team on PO creation and status.

  • Enter purchasing agreements and agreements that are not research contracts through the appropriate portals .

  • Ensures timeliness and accurate submission of all purchasing agreements and supporting documents.

  • Maintains KPIs on submissions through the purchasing and vendor agreement process.

  • Assists with Study Startup activities being routed to the Research Budget/ Contract Team.

  • Notifies finance and contracts teams of amendments that require updates to previously approved agreements.

  • Acts as liaison between investigators, sponsors and their representatives and the HMH purchasing and legal teams.

  • Assists in developing procedures to ensure submission compliance.

  • Assists Contract team with Confidentiality agreements and other agreements as needed.

  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or Paralegal Certificate.

  • Excellent personal management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to work independently, and in a team, and handle multiple deadline-driven tasks in a dynamic environment is essential.

  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred :

    1. Society of Clinical Research Associates Certification or Certified Clinical Research Administrator or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator.
