We are currently looking for a Tool Crib / Room Manager, Locomotive at our project site in Dahod. This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager.
The job responsibilities of the Tool Crib / Room Manager, Locomotive include (but not limited to):
Maintains a detailed inventory of Tools, Equipment etc. and ensure their proper storage and maintenance.
Supports Production / Manufacturing to manage and guarantee on-time availability of Tools to ensure continuous production and increase of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
Involve in the Installation and Commissioning of New tools, including conducting periodic quality checks to ensure that the finished product meets the required specifications.
Provides technical advice and support on all aspects of Tools design, Manufacturing and estimation.
Responsible for Inventory control of Tools, Equipment & Consumables in an orderly and accessible manner.
Monitors & controls Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conducts timely Risk Assessments of the Processes and Tasks for Tool Room.
Works closely with Production to identify and troubleshoot tooling issues, implementing solutions to maximize the efficiency, minimize scrap and downtime.
Ensures that all Jigs, Fixtures and Tools are properly maintained and repaired as per defined Preventive Maintenance schedules.
Develops Continual Improvement plans and Spares Management of the New / Existing tools.
Maintains accurate records of all tooling maintenance and repairs (with the focus on MTBF, MTTR, Tools History Card, Monthly Performance data, SMED etc.).
Controls the minimum / maximum levels for all the Tools, Hand Tools etc.
Works with Quality to manage Tooling requirements, documentation etc. as specified in the Quality Systems.
Coordinates with Vendors for the Procurement of New tools or the Repair of existing ones.
Assists in budget preparation for the Tool room operations and monitors the expenditures.
Monitors calibration of tools & Co-ordinates for recalibration.

Graduate in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
Should have at least 4-6 years’ experience in handling tool room of mid. or Heavy engineering unit. Experience in rolling stock is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret standards, blueprints, layouts, drawings, 2D / 3D models, and wiring diagrams.
Advanced knowledge of Assembly Jigs, fixtures, hand tools, their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Well-versed in working with the Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD.
A self-motivator with a results-driven approach having effective technical and inter-personal skills.
Should be proficient in English and Hindi. Fluency in Gujarati is an added benefit.
