Job overview

System Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for implementing Engineering policies and guidelines, manages and coordinates all Engineering activities in the Engineering unit assigned for Design and configuration of Protection, Substation Automation Systems/Microgrid, PPC and Loadshedding schemes used across various voltage levels in India and Abroad for a variety of customers that include Central/State/Private Utilities, Industries and Infrastructure power systems.

The incumbent will be responsible for the project lifecycle that include the various project phases like Understanding the client requirement, Preparation of detail design/documentation/calculations, Approval of design/documentations from customer, ordering the required material to the factory and support to Project Management/Factory/Commissioning team for successful execution of the Project.

Job Description

• Manages engineering region assigned, and leads, motivates and develops dedicated employees.

• Plans and allocates team resources, budgets to Engineering projects or activities & support for engineering forecast.

• Support in implementing guidelines and defining functional specific policies, processes or methods to fulfill the superior Engineering strategy.

• Support in ensuring a proficient and capable workforce to conduct the Engineering activities in time and quality.

• Drives the development of technical standards and procedures for System Engineering.

• Review of various types of System Architecture based on project requirements.

• Review of various protection documents Trip Matrix, PSLD, GA, BOQ, Schematics of Control & Relay Panels.

• Review & validation of FAT/SAT/GTP/TTR/FDS/HEAT LOAD documents.

• Review & validation of BOM, GA, schematics, Architecture & Factory loading document.

• Configuration & FAT Support for Microgrid, PPC and Loadshedding Projects, Control & Protection Panels & Substation Automation System.

• Approval support for engineering document approval/resolution of query for assigned customers.

• Ensures obeying regional laws and regulations.

Eligibility criteria / Skill Sets

• B. Tech / B.E in Electrical/Electronic Engineering/Equivalent

• 10 - 15 years of relevant experience.

• Candidate should have experience of leading & developing a team of minimum 5 Engineers

• Knowledge of Protection & Substation Automation- Products & Solutions portfolio for conventional stations/digital stations including latest technologies.

• Knowledge of Siemens configuration tools: SIMATIC WINCC/SCC, Toolbox, Device Manager, DIGSI.

• Knowledge of IEC/IS/IEEE standards applicable for Protection & Substation Automation

• Has good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skill.

• Conflict resolution & Stakeholder Management.

• Knowledge on different serial and ethernet based protocol used in Substation Automation System.

• Should have knowledge of networking topologies (Ring, HSR, PRP etc.)

• Proficient in Protection SLD’s, Trip matrix, interlocking logics, control & relay panels schematics up to 765kV for various power system equipment
