Why this job matters

The key purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with all key stakeholders to analyze and track Transformation programme budgets, spend, resourcing and deliverables within Digital to enable the successful delivery of the programme on budget.

What you’ll be doing

The post-holder will be working in a matrix team with the Transformation Programme owners and delivery tribes will;

• Optimise costs and resources on the Transformation programmes through analysis of resource costs versus budget allocation and make recommendations.

• Ensure accurate reporting of monthly spend, investigating any unknown/unexpected spend with Finance.

• Working within the wider matrix team to communicate the variances of actual monthly spend to expected outlook.

• Analysis of the programme deliverables using Product Board versus budget, costs and resourcing to identify if delivery is running to schedule or if there is a risk of non-delivery or over delivery, detailing which deliverables would be impacted and when on the delivery timeline.

• Consolidate and support requests for help and queries regarding resourcing and funding requirements, completing updates in the Resource Management Tracker (RMT), and completing the Resource Allocation Process (RAP) process where required.

• Complete updates of demand allocation and tracking on the Transformation programmes across the Finance Units on the Business Demand Plan (BDP)

• Ensure all programme contact information regarding demand and supply is fully up to date to ensure a smooth Purchase Order approval process

• Attend regular Transformation Programme delivery calls daily, weekly, monthly to fully understand the programme and become part of the matrix team

Skills Required

• Taking Ownership and Mitigating issues and Risks: Strong leadership skills in giving direction and making the correct call using data to evidence decision making and mitigating Programme risks

• Business analysis: You can advise on the approach to identify, investigate, analyse and communicate complex business problems and opportunities within a project or programme of work. You can inform tactical decision making and help to define longer-term strategic plans. You can recommend the approach to options analysis, feasibility assessment and operations, and can quantify potential business benefits. You can ensure the proposed solution aligns with business goals and objectives, and business and user needs, and achieves the required outcomes and expected benefits.

• Business process improvement: You can identify opportunities to improve business performance, within a project or programme. You can lead the analysis, identification, design, prioritisation and implementation of process and business changes to improve business operations and services. You can assess the feasibility of changes and recommend new approaches. You can support the implementation of proposed business improvements

• Great Communicator of Plans and Delivery Information: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences

• Stakeholder relationship management (business analysis): You can lead on communicating with stakeholders, clarifying needs and commitments through consultation and consideration of consequences while focusing on user and business needs. You can develop or apply communication strategies to build relationships, using informal and formal channels to engage with stakeholders at all levels and resolving conflict where required.

• Technology Aware: good understanding and awareness of future technology architecture and roadmap.

• Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences

• Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)

• Recognised Project management accreditations.

• Be tech savvy: Partners with the business and other organisations to develop understanding of new technologies and they're use.

• Be agile: Uses collaborative or agile test and learn approaches, contributing to projects and programmes as a subject matter expert or content owner.

• Hold others to account: Understands expectations and processes for ethics and values in BT. Manages their team in line with those standards, challenging poor behaviors

Experience Required

• Externally or internally recognized Project Management qualification (Mandatory)

• Business Improvement qualification (Preferred)

• Operated in a large multi-site complex business (Mandatory)

• Operated in a multi-channel business (Mandatory)

• Project Managed projects delivering value of more £3m (Mandatory)

• Worked with large complex data Sets. (Preferred)

• Experience of working in a technology business with complex products. (Preferred).

• Operated and worked in a regulated business (Preferred)

• Track record of holding Stakeholders at MD and Director Level to account. (Preferred)

• Experience of managing ambiguity (Mandatory)

• Experience of coaching skills and coaching and developing project managers (Preferred)

• 3-5 years relevant in project management and 9 years+ overall business experience.
