The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Who You Are

Job Description: Database - Oracle Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database - Oracle Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in managing and supporting Oracle databases in a production environment. As a Database - Oracle Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our organization's Oracle database systems.

Responsibilities:

Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle database systems, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and data integrity.

Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to protect data and ensure business continuity.

Monitor and optimize the performance of Oracle database systems, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and issues.

Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including applying patches, upgrades, and security patches.

Plan and implement database security measures, including user access management, data encryption, and database auditing.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including database connectivity, query performance, and data corruption.

Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database schema design for performance and scalability.

Perform database capacity planning and recommend infrastructure upgrades to meet future growth requirements.

Create and maintain documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database technologies, trends, and best practices, and recommend improvements to optimize database performance and security.

Provide on-call support and respond to database-related incidents in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing and supporting Oracle databases in a production environment.

Strong knowledge of Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.

Proficiency in Oracle database backup and recovery techniques, including RMAN and Data Pump.

Experience in database security, including user access management, data encryption, and database auditing.

Solid understanding of Oracle database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.

Familiarity with Oracle High Availability (HA) technologies such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard.

Experience in database monitoring and diagnostics tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AWR, and ADDM.

Strong SQL and PL/SQL programming skills for troubleshooting and scripting tasks.

Knowledge of database migration and upgrade processes.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders.

Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) are highly desirable.
