AON Legal & Compliance Operations, Asia in Gurgaon, India
The Opportunity The position will report to the Chief Counsel, Asia and is expected to be self-driven, involving regular interaction with business, law & compliance leadership. The candidate should be a highly self-motivated leader able to work with minimal supervision. Role will be responsible for the full spectrum of Legal & Compliance Operations, including enhancing the L&C operating model, ensuring the effective delivery of L&C services to support the firm in mitigating L&C risks, adept in L&C change management, resource management, and L&C project management (throughout the process from project plan to project completion).
Key Responsibilities Operations:
• Leadership and Strategy: Overall develop and execute the Asia regional L&C operations strategy taking into account Aon’s global corporate objectives.• Process Optimization: Monitor and optimize L&C processes to increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks, whilst driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.• Reporting: Establish robust data and management information reporting to effectively communicate to a variety of stakeholders on Legal, Compliance related team initiatives.• Budget and Resource Management: Assist with preparing and managing the L&C team budget for the Asia region, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Assist with recruitment and create, implement and maintain an effective L&C onboarding processes. Assist in the negotiation of contracts with external vendors and service providers to the L&C department to optimize service delivery and costs-effectiveness.• Team Development and Training: Lead, plan and implement training initiatives to enhance the L&C team’s knowledge and capabilities delivering effective L&C support to the firm. Foster a culture of integrity, transparency and accountability within the L&C team. Encourage teamwork, and maintain a positive attitude contributing to team morale.• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, HR, Audit and IT to ensure alignment of L&C operations with broader business objectives. Working seamlessly with Aon’s global L&C operations and project management teams. Project Management Overall support the L&C team in the management of projects, which may come in a variety of forms. These may include for example, regulatory projects; project management support for L&C committees or L&C inputs into other working groups; contract template refresh projects; training initiatives; corporate, M&A, restructuring and integration projects; and technology projects to enhance the L&C team operations, among others.
Required Skills:
• Must have minimum of 8- 10+ years of experience in operations and project management, preferably with experience in leading Legal & Compliance Operations within a multinational environment.• Proven leadership experience, preferably managing teams across multiple jurisdictions.• Able to liase with L&C officers / functional heads across APAC to fulfill project deliverables & manage Legal & Compliance related Operations matters.• Demonstrated ability to lead operational support for L&C teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Proven track record to maintain and develop high performing team across regions and virtual teams.• Technical Project management skills - project planning, documentation and execution using PMP principles in a multi jurisdictional Legal & Compliance context• Relevant training and/or certifications in a Legal & Compliance Operations or Risk Management role will be added advantage, with strong understanding of risk management frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards, to achieve L&C operational excellence• Proficiency in L&C technology solutions, such as data and analytics reporting tools, contract management systems, compliance tracking tools, scheduling and L&C databases, as well as Microsoft Office: intermediate to advanced Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, MS Project• Experience in managing budgets, resources and vendor relationships in the context of L&C operations• Ability to multitask, adjust and prioritize according to changing needs Competencies• Excellent leadership and people management skills• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills• Capable of effectively liaising with stakeholders at all levels• Ability to quickly build, manage and sustain relationships virtually and across international geographies• Srategic, data-driven and methodical work approach with the ability to align L&C operations to broader business objectives How to Apply Your opportunity to empower results could start right here.
